His Majesty returns Home


His Majesty the King and the Queen returns home today after completing  their five-day visit to the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.
During their visit from February 14th to 19th, Their Majesties visited the Dharmarajika Bauddha Vihara, a Buddhist monastery in Dhaka and laid the foundation stone for the Atisha statue and pagoda to be built at the monastery.
Their Majesties offered prayers at the monastery and were offered the most sacred ash relic of the 10th century Buddhist teacher, Atisha Dipankara Srijnana also known as Jowo Je Palden Atisha.
Their Majesties also met with Sheikh Hasina who hosted a dinner at her residence in Gonobhaban.
His Majesty also met the opposition leader and the chairperson of Bangladesh Nationalist Party, Begum Khaleda Zia, foreign minister Dr Dipu Moni and Bhutanese students studying in Bangladesh.
